That is without a doubt, the fastest way to get past a lock. No BS at all. well, unless you end up spending 2 hours and 5 bits drilling out a medeco.

No, "yoyoboy" that is NOT the fastest way to get past a lock. Drilling out the entire lock plug is going to take much much longer than to use a small 1/8th" bit or so to drill out the shearline, even still, when damage is of no concern there are still yet, many faster ways of opening a whole lot of locks. With medico locks I usually drill in 2 places, using a single bit and I'm usually done within 5-10 min or so. Btw don't reveal our second way to drill out door hardware (if its not obvious), its only for the advanced section :roll:

In the movie "Heat" with DeNiro, Val Kilmer, etc. Kilmer uses a tapered bolt, a bolt that has been grinded into a slim end. He inserts the end into the opening of the cylinder and hammers it deeper with a Sledge hammer. Next he uses a 24" wrench to turn the bolt thus breaking the lock.

Is this possible?

I have to admit the opening of the lock looked aleady filed and enlarged to accomodate the prop.

By " barrel" I assumed he meant the plug. I had never imagined that anybody would try and drill the whole clynder :shock:

I remember a guy using a LockAid type pick gun in "Predator 2". He inserts it in the lock, pulls the trigger a few times and opens the door. No tension wrench needed!

I saw in one of the old Inspector Columbo movies that one guy broke in a house and he had a whole (wallet) set of lockpics and tension wrenches.
I think they were SouthOrd

Has anyone seen the lockpicking in Splinter Cell games. It looks very realistic

someone, (you know who you are :lol:

) sent me a disclok pro, very nice little lock very tight, but the keyway is wide and while the front of it is an anti drill spinner, it looks like the bottom of the keyway, (far end from the opening) is probably a thin brass barrier, comeing out at a tailpiece assembly that his held together by a thin roundwire springclip. haveing seen marktobias M3 breakthrough (DE) and knowing about those thin breakthrough areas in some zinc cast auto lock bodies, it occured to me that the wide parts of the keyway would allow a drill of maybe 3/16ths inch to do two holes and leave a small area that a dedicated broach could punch out, then a simple tool could be made of hacksaw metal to pop off and push away that spring clip and simply allow the tail piece to be pushed back, and manipulated by a tool much like the tobias tool for DE of the M3 medeco. Im not gonna destroy my lock, but maybe someone around tobias, eric#s could tell him about it.

So I'm watching the movie Desperate Measures on FX Network and a couple goons just broke into an FBI building.

To get to the 10th floor, you need a ACE style key to turn to the ON position in order for that elevator button to work. The goon takes out an ACE key and some needle nose pliers.

Then he inserts the key, which I can't tell if its cut or not, and grabs it with the pliers and turns hard into the on position.

This can't possibly work.. plus its DE so if a mod wants to edit this, please do =)

There is a girl who opens a corroded master lock 930 with 5 security pins in 3 seconds flat with only a metal prong and no tension wrench!

Later a chick is able to open the same lock by gently hitting it with a rock! The 930's are not as strong as they used to be! :roll:

the biggest problem i see is when they never have tension wrenches and open the lock in 2 seconds

there was this bank robber movie not too long ago, i forget the name but they opened a bank safety deposit box with two HPC picks in about 3 seconds using one another as tension wrenches.... i was like ..........NOT!!!
