Already serached the forums and found nothing, so this is probably the first.
Does anyone have ane expierience with these pen pick sets as show on the middle of

http://www.spymall.com/catalog/locksmithing.htm
or
http://southord.com/catalog.asp?cat=locksmith

Note: I am not talking about these Kwik picks, but the pen picks.

They apparenatly offer 9 picks from the southord, but only 3 picks from the Spy Mall brand. Unless I want to look like James Bond, do these pick sets offer any functionality or are they just a waste of money.

Spy shops generally have inflated prices for picks. I would suggest sticking with traditional picks, at least when you are learning.

The HPC one looks good, alas expensive.

I've had two different pen sets and I hate them both. Ususally the picks can't be fastened securely in the tip and move a little bit up and down, which is very anoying while working with a hook.
I think it's just like the pocket knife sets, about which we told people who wanted to buy them from our clubs stand at a convention:
"If you want to be cool, you'll have to buy these, but if you really want to pick, you should get a normal pick set".
It's not the tools that open the lock. It's me.

I would add that those picks give very bad feedback because they are loosly mouted. Stick with a regular pickset if you wat to pick.
