also i read somebody's comment saying the locksmith secrets are out of the bag, some of us have secrets nobody knows
and also we know this information is floating around like a dead fly in a glass of water and nobody cares. The difference between a locksmith and a lock picker is the customers trust us and would prefer to pay our fee and get the job done by a professional. you couldn't imagine how many customers stress the fact of our government bonding, licensing and reputation of our shop before calling us out. I personaly have no problem with you guys learning what i know, i rather enjoy it, because as young adults you have skills to fall back on, in the future. The more knowledge and ethics you learn now the better i believe. god forbid if you lose your job in the future and you can't pay the bills for your family you could always become a locksmith. i think it's positive. Good theifs know as much as i do if not more and bad theifs are crack heads with bricks , screw drivers and crow bars. It's up to the customer to purchase the adequate locks and hardening security for his or her residence, we can only educate.

Ermis, did you get clearance because you have contracts with the gov't? I am hoping it works like that, so my shop can also get its hands on a copy. Once I've got the money, I'm hoping a letter from the local police quartermaster will be enough to get me a copy... If he was selling the full gov't version to joe blow at defcon, I don't see why he wouldn't let a certified & bonded locksmith get a copy...

Was Marc really selling the government version of LSS+ to the public at defcon? I find that kind of surprising with all of the security and stringent requirements to gain access to it on his site.

Marc sells the locksmith version at shows and talks not the goverment version,
Ermis, i suggest detailing even the contents of the goverment version isnt quite suitable for here so i must ask you to hold off posting such info should you get it (the goverment version isnt all that i assure you, the best added bonus is the extra vids)

I'm pretty sure that tag is put there just to cover their butts.
I mean, think about it, they also say the same thing about bump keys on the site. "SOLD ONLY TO LOCKSMITHS", but that begs the question, what reputable locksmith couldn't make his/her own with a manual/automatic code cutter/punch? Lol.
I'll order the locksmith in a few and see how far I get before I have to show my actual locksmith ID credentials.

Well i am guessing Old BEYOND didn't make out to well on his order.
One might say he went beyond what was acceptable.

One thing that is misleading on the lockpicks.com site regarding LSS+, is that it shows that the two DAME CD's come with the locksmith version, but it does not.
By the way, I got LSS+ locksmith through Marc Tobias by just asking him. Great resource.

As an update, works fine in VMware, but a default XP install will require Windows Installer 3.1 and the Visual Studio 2005 redistributable to actually run the program.

I'd be willing to bet you could get it running under WINE or WINEX. I only run linux on my servers, so I don't have this problem. :)

Who cares what the employees think. I've gotten some looks over the years for buying things like 2600. I spread the word of locksport far and wide, so its better to portray it in a good light instead of skulking into a store and muttering under your breath where the wink wink nudge nudge section is. If we act like we're doing something illicit, then people will consider our hobby as such.
btw, most books they have on the topic, including Bill Phillips 6th edition of the Complete Book of Locksmithing is special order. If you do want to explore their locksmith section, ask to see Trade books for Locksmiths.
good luck,
