Ok well my MPXS-14 set came in today and earlier this week I dropped by wal-greens and picked up a simple Lockage brass padlock for $3.
Earlier this week i read the MIT guide to lockpicking so I got a whole lot better idea for lockpicking. So I inserted my small tension wrench, applied very light pressure and tried to single pin pick (i think there is an abbreviation for that) with my half diamond pick. I managed to get 2 out the 4 down but for some reason i just couldnt get the other 2.
So, I switched to my snake pick and applied light pressure again on my tension wrench and then lightly glided over the pins in the lock, i could feel that I got all of them except for the back one so I just switched to my half diamond and pushed the back one down then Viola! I picked my first lock.

buy Masterlock #1 a 3 or a 5 these are great to practice on, don't buy a brinks just yet they are a little trickier, but cheap usually, they have spool security pins! I am working on one now, I have got it twice but it is a challenge!

I remember my first lock, I automatically thought I could pick almost any lock..hahaha, boy was I wrong. Stay sure of yourself, but make sure to not get too cocky, cause it gets embarrassing when a family member or friend wants a lock open, and you can seem to do it after a few hours. Learn from my mistakes
Nice job though!
