How do locks work???

Postby lockman123 » 14 Feb 2008 21:32

Okay, I'm interested in locks and would like to learn more about them. But I do not know anything about locks except for the fact that a lock needs a key that fits the pin drop pattern. Could someone please do the following:

Send me some information at ( email edited out by Keyman)

Give me the names of some books that work and have good informational/practice value for picking locks

Direct me to some good places to learn more,

etc.

?

You are certainly in the right place, these guys definately know what they are talking about here - Id advise that you purchase a small kit and a few cheap locks to get you started, read through the stickies, watch a few videos and you'll be there in no time!

Good luck.

I recommend this to any newbies:

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-8311876885402551635

You have to wait a minute or two for the video to come in, but it covers most locksport subjects and is a very good introductory presentation. Deviant Ollam is a cool cat, he gave this lecture multiple times from memory in the lockpicking village at Defcon 15 and I think it is mandatory for all those in the community. Check it out :-)
