Glow Pick

Anybody ever seen or used that kind of pick? At first i thought it would be kind of useful and i was planning to buy it, but then i thought that with the big handle it would be hard to feel the pins. Is this thing any good, or is it a waste of my money?

What's the use? All you need is a good sense of touch; you can only see the first pin anyway. A good lockpicker, it seems to me, can pick a lock in the dark, with their eyes closed, blindfolded etc.

i can pick locks with my eyes closed, blindfolded, etc. but there have been numerous times where i've actually needed light.

a small 3$ flashlight that you can hold in your mouth temporarily do the same, cheap and old-style stays always the best solution. This is more a marketing useless gadget that something else. Probably something that James Bond will use in his next movie :wink:

i can pick locks with my eyes closed, blindfolded, etc. but there have been numerous times where i've actually needed light.

Hak: Could you give an example of such a situation? I'm curious - and impressed when you say you can Actually pick a lock blindfolded :shock:

you can get scopes similar to doctors scopes (for looking in ears) or even doctors scopes themselves to have a bit of a closer look inside the lock.

if you can fit a tension wrench, scope and pick into a lock simultaneously then you're doing pretty well though....

I believe this pick has a light on the handle, illuminating the front of the keyhole. True, it's nothing a good flashlight can't take care of, but it's a novelty idea that would allow you to more easily locate where to stick your pick if you're working at night.

Ive heard that if one or more of you senses is disabled, then your other remaining operating senses will sharpen, this would increase you touch.

but im not sure if thats true.
