Looking for info on a Yale & Towne lock?

I have had this lock for a couple of years now, and I got it from my dad who had it for god only knows how long. Neither he nor I have ever had a key for it. You got to love a dad that doesn’t pick locks, yet keeps old locks without keys (you know, just incase). I have worked on picking it on and off for several years (never for any extended period of time, and never opened it). I figured at some point my skills would catch up to the lock, and would hear that magical sound [click]. I have been working on improving my skills, and I thought I would take an informed run at the lock.
The best I can do is set one or two pins, very little feedback on the tension wrench. When applying tension with the wrench, the plug has very little play (I mean very little). Has anyone played around with this type of Yale lock? Any info on this lock would be great.

Thanks
Mike

As many members suggested to me, with old locks you can use a little oil... This helped me a lot!
Happy picking

Well guess what, I opened it. Wow, what a feeling it was when the plug rotated. I still have work to do with this lock, as I opened it with a snap gun pick and Bogota rake. I still have had no luck SPP it. Well at least I know the lock works so I will keep working on SPP.
