I have just paid for a lockpickers Rolodex but I think I may have been ripped off? as no sign of the Ebook full of links etc...

Unfortunately, I would share your suspicion. :( Given the information that's available on this site, I can't imagine a $59 book of "secret website links" being worth the money. I've not seen his "Rolodex", but I have seen his other "bonus" books (e.g., "Make Your Own Lockpicks") and, in my opinion, they're extremely light on content.

Having said that, welcome to the site! I think you'll find that there's not only a lot of good information here on getting into lockpicking as a hobby... but, more importantly, lots of really knowledgeable people here who are happy to share their experience and ideas.

Hi, I'm also a new member here. I know nearly nothing about lock picking, but I find it very facinating. I figured this forum was the best way to start. Til now, I've been picking only padlocks, but I'm ordering some tools that you recomenden here, to see if i can advance it.
Anything i need to know? And what is the main difference between a padlock and for instance a door lock?

Btw. dont mind my lame language, I'm from Norway.

My first suggestion is to fill in your location so we have an idea from where you are.

I have been a ghost member ( lurking as a guest ) and member for more than a year and I still learn new things. I've always said that this website is an ocean of knowledge.

Enjoy this site and do ask question, people will help.

One nice thing about door locks, is that you can take them apart and see how they work without any damage. Also when you put them together you can leave out a couple of the pin stacks (and their springs). This makes them easier to pick. As you get better, you can put all the pins back in.

There are guides here about taking your locks apart and getting them together again without missing any parts.
