Maybe I'm just stupid, but how do you remove the cam? It looks like there's a hollow metal tube holding it in place but I can't seem to punch it out.
EDIT: nevermind, I wasn't punching it out hard enough. D'oh!

As a note, it doesn't seem like a group buy is going to be possible. The seller is still living in the clouds/fantasy land. This is what I got from him: HELLO, I AM A PATIENT OLD MAN... I WILL ACCEPT NO LESS THAN $15.00 A PEICE... I HAVE SOLD THESE CYLINDERS FOR 40.OO A PEICE , BUT NOW I'M MAKING WAY FOR NEW INVENTORY.. WHOM EVER IS INTERESTED WILL BE GETTING A GREAT DEAL....THANK YOU FOR YOUR INQUIRY... I LOOK FORWARD IN HEARING FROM YOU AGAIN..
I am not sure what kind of math he learned in school (the same school that taught him that piece is spelled peice), but selling locks with a single bid for $13.99 is actually less than $15.00...

Well, it doesn't seem like that is possible for now. I would still wait a little bit as I know that this guy still has a very large supply that he needs to get rid of, however certain people (yes, I am glaring at you certain people) have been buying from him lately at his 13.99 plus shipping price, so he is not under as much pressure as he was before when he was still dropping the price. When people actually stop buying, the price will go down,

There isn't 1 auction. Since he has 250 of these rim cylinders he's posting them one by one. go to ebay.com and look up evva rim If people could please stop buying the Buy It Now for $19.99 then maybe he will actually lower the price and not reply to our emails that he will not sell them for anything less than $15.00. Thanks everyone, Squelchtone

Right, he's not going to lower it while there is demand.

I got mine for $13.50 or so. It was worth it. I wouldn't expect him to go much lower than $12 plus shipping costs.
If you want it to get that low, remember that he's a "patient old man," but we're young and can be just as patient if we want a deal...which we might get from the executors of his estate if we wait long enough. Huzzah!
Ooh, poor taste.

Yeah, I also grabbed another when I saw they were 13$. The point of the bulk sale is to make money NOW rather than waiting around, but he has already stated his spiel about being a patient old man. I'd say suck it up and spend that extra 3$, guys.

Is it possible to key alike two of the cylinders, myself or a local locksmith here in the states?

if you got a handful of them from this seller, you would probably have enough parts to reconfigure a lock to match a lock that you want keyed alike.

If they are the same profile key , is should not be difficult to rekey them. There are only 5 individual shaped sliders , but they work different when upside-down.

I'm considering using two of these for my door but would like to have them keyed alike.
How many would you say I would need to buy in order to key-alike two of them?

It's not really possible to say. If they are purely at random, then perhaps 3-4 might do it. You will have to think about it, since you might have the parts then to re-key 2 of them the same, but only for ONE set of the keys that have come with the 4 locks. Please note though that there are no gurantees you can make any. All I can suggest is that you buy at least 4 and hope for the best. If not, buy some more and eBay off all the unused ones and parts afterwards to get back most of your money! Good luck! afterwards iwmtv wrote:Anyone have an idea how many i would need to buy so there would be enough parts to key alike two of these EVVA cylinders?
