Hi, FuSL

here you are some (not so good quality :( ) images regarding of the dimple picks I made.

Dimple Lock Picks:
Image
As you can see I tryed different shapes (I tryed others too) but the ones that appears to work better (for me at least) are:
1. the single peak kind (third and fourth from top) for single picking: i use it as a diamond pick is used in normal locks with the difference that when I press the pin I do it using a rotation of the pick along the lenght axis;
2. the three peaks kind (first and second from top) for raking: i use it like a "Bogota" rake is used for normal locks.

Cheap Dimple Locks:

these are cheap chinese made, but all of them have 7/7 security pins (one has spools, two have mushroom), what makes them easier to pick are the high tolerances.

Tool:

I think it's self explaining.

Material:

this kind of small sawtoooth blades (found at a local Carrefour) steel is mild so they don't need to be heated before bending. After bending I Temper it (red - not cherry, too brittle) using the kitchen stove and cold water.

Hope this answers your questions, if not please ask.

thanks for the tip on the red not cherry red. I got a bunch of these which i found are very flexable.. but now i realized that i heated it too much and thats why they fall apart. do you reccomend thses blade for torque wrenches also???

If you want them really strong though you want them as bright red as possible, do that about five or six times (quenching it inbetween) then about three or four times red hot and let them cool slowly, and then the steel will be heat treated and tempered, if it's to brittle, let it cool slowly more than quenching

I used to be pretty good at picking (Peterson half-diamond) the DOM ix 10:

Here's a short little paragraph on that; experimenting with tool-fitting seemed to be the trick here: http://theamazingking.com/locks.html#dom

Hey nice lock!! I could use one of those  One quick question though on how you opened it, personally I have never tried the rapping method, if it's allowed for you to answer this question ( but which side to you hit, the top or the bottom, top being the pin chambered side?) Thanks man for the interesting lock post :P

If we are talking about picking DOM iX or the D type (with dual keyways), the thread should go to the advanced section.

I would be interested to know if anyone has picked the DOM D. It looks like a very difficult lock to pick.
