First Mul-t-Lock interactive picked

Postby serpih » 26 Aug 2009 15:54

I have picked my first Mul-t-Lock pin in pin interactive

I have tried before with 2 other locks, but i wasn't sure they work because i haven't keys to this locks, that's why I never have tried very hard.

Yesterday I get one with key, for this one I was sure she works, and I have tried harder.

Congrats! That's awesome. :) I'm still a miserable lockpicker when it comes to anything remotely high security. Well done.

Soon that Mul-T-Lock will become your "confidence lock". It's the perfect high security lock to pick when your skills are a bit lacking cos you haven't been practicing as much as you used to.

When you have trouble picking your favorite Medeco or even a Schlage Everest (yes I said Everest), you can always turn to a Mul-T-Lock Interactive and pop it open without using too much effort to prove you still got what it takes to be a locksport enthusiast. :D

What I would like to know is how you picked it. Was it single pin manipulation or raking in some way? And, what pick did you use?

I have used this tools,

I have picked the lock with single pin manipulation, open this lock by raking will be difficult.
Once i have opened medeco biaxial only by raking, so difficult maybe but nothing is impossible.

I think that depends on the lock or on the lockie who pinned it but the one Classic and Interactive cylinders I have both came with mushroom drivers.

Not too hard to get around them though, a Schlage is harder. In fact to me it serves as a great indicator of when the inner pins have all been set and when to concentrate only on the outer pin.

Not talking about the drivers. My Mul-T-Lock has 3 mushroom drivers. I am talking about the key pins. My lock has 2 of them and they are designed to catch at the shear if overlifted forcing you to reset the entire cylinder and start over.

Here is an image of my Mul-T-Lock Interactive that I picked and gutted. If you look at the two outer keypins on the left top corner of the picture you will see what I mean by mushroom keypin.

These locks are quite a challenge to pick so awesome job!
