Hmm. This sounds interesting.. I've got a fwe questions which I think you people miht be able to help out with.
Reading the posts on this thread, it was mentioned that they do send the course overseas. I think they do too but there is a statement that reads "Not available on international orders" on the Enrollment Plan section of the Online form.. hmm.. wonder what that means
Also, after gettin that Diploma, would I be able to apply to be associated with Master Locksmith Assosiation (MLA) or something? Do thet recognise the cert?
Lastly, the course now seem to cost 869 -$100 for one time payment.. Was that the price you all got? The posts in the thread said that it was aroundo nli $700? hmm..... Wonder when they will give discount again

Just send them an email asking for the locksmithing course details and wait. They will drop the price each time they contact you to see if you are still interested. I waited about 3 months and I have heard if you wait longer they will get down under $700 but I was too impatient!

I sent in my last set of lessons today... Can't wait to get my diploma and all that good stuff... yeah man...
Anyone know what that whole thing is about in the end of the last book that says that you can take 3 courses for free... Advanced locksmithing and something about alarms and some other stuff... what's the catch? did anyone do them?

Yes, they do send you the free courses.
Got the first one on safes ( I beleive ) and read the whole thing. Just haven't had time/keep forgetting to send it in.
All in all. I am very happy with the F-B course.
Very soon, the " Big Brown Truck " will arrive, and leave a key machine for you.
Have lots of fun!

I JUST SIGNED UP TO FOLEY BELSAW!.
I spoke with a local locksmith today, he offered
me a job once i finish the course, i was going to start in sept.
But since i was offered a chance to be bonded and certified so quickly i decided to take the opportunity and i signed up the second i walked into my door. I read alot of your reviews on the course, and i will also be taking their specialty courses upon completion. Thanks alot guys for the direction in what course to take.
Did anyone here take it from canada? if so, how are the shipping times? And when do they send you the free picking gun?

I fixed it, i'm in Vancouver BC. I had a killer deadbolt today on my garage, it's a Schlage but, the deadbolt has an autolock system, where you can set it, then close the door, and the deadbolt will lock into the door. Anyways when opening the lock, i picked it open, and i was turning the lock and opening the deadbolt, but once it hit this spot it froze, it required way too much tension, infact i couldn't get past it. I pulled my tension wrench out and i dragged my small hook across the key pins but they where all set in place, not moving. all the driver pins where deffinately on the other side of the shere line and the keyway was turning back and forth, but not past this point. .. Anyways i took an old allen key (double sided, like a Z) and i grinded down one side of it to a sharp beak shape, so i could turn the keyway with it, because my tension wrench would have snapped. It's funny because my grinder was inside my garage, so i had to lock the door, then use my key to open it and grind the allen key, and i havn't tried again since, but once i have a chance after dinner i'll try again and update, cuz that deadbolt system really put me in my place. Anyways if there is a better or smarter way around these deadbolts plz let me know, because this is what i came up with at the time.

My advice is not to buy the board that they try to sell you with the lamp on it for your cutting machine!! And if you decide you want to buy it anyways....get it off of foleybelsaw.com and you will get it for like 10 bucks cheaper!!
I bought the board and had nothing but problems with it.....the picture in the book that came with the cutting machine shows a handle on it first of all....but there is no handle! 2nd you can't open the lid on the toolbox when the machine is on the board because the motor is in the way! 3rd the screw holes aren't far enough apart to screw the lamp on correctly! Finally the screws they send you are a little to small.....if you screw them in once they work fine...but if you take them out to move the key machine up a little so that the belt is tight....they don't work anymore!!
my 2 Cents
