I'm at work and don't have Greyman's book handy, but give that a look. The actual name of the lock is Rielda (the bars on the left and right are decoration). If I recall correctly, these things can be rekeyed in the field using a key (like the Smartkey or now Securekey) and were the original locks to do that. I can't remember how they work, but if I had to venture a guess; that cutout on the key is probably not present on the "changer" keys. Then again, I may be totally off and thinking of the wrong lock, but "Rielda" is definitely the right name. Good luck :-)

I'd be scared to gut it personally; check out this parts breakdown:

Would make for some nice photos though :-)

They should use this in their marketing.

"Rielda locks are virtually pickproof(tm). Lockpickers don't even attempt to pick Rielda locks, they are too nervous about ruining them!"

Don't take it apart, I have one in bits waiting for that spare time when I'll try and figure out how to put the bloody thing back together ....

The big problem with picking them is that they can reset / de-combinate during the picking process and lockout the correct key ...

My suggestion is to file-away the back of a key (or make a copy where you file away the back :P )
I guess that that groove in the back is to prevent the key to be extracted in the 180 degree pos. (reprogramming pos.)

Maybe this info will help:

I know this is old, and sorry to dig it up.

Picked a Rielda this evening in three minutes after years of randomly trying. It's broken down and ready for a really special cut tomorrow.

Stay tuned :D
