Northern California TOOOL group

Yes, it's true. The day you have longed and hoped for is finally approaching. We will be having our first official meeting next weekend in San Francisco on Sunday, June 13th. I know, I'm a little choked up too. Not that I have to convince you, but if you live in the Bay area we would love to have you join us. Now don't go dusting off your tux or anything. This is just an informal get together for some casual lock picking with friends. Bring picks if you have them. Bring your exotic locks to wow us with. Bring nothing at all if you want. But we'll be there either way so even if you can't stay, stop by and say hello.

There will be tools to use if you have none, but in keeping with the spirit of the venue we will also be talking about some ways to make your own. I'll be scrounging up metal, but if you have some you've been meaning to use for a while, bring that along too.

So come by and pick some locks with us for a couple hours. I can almost promise you won't regret it.

Where:
Noise Bridge in San Francisco https://www.noisebridge.net/wiki/Noisebridge
2169 Mission St
San Francisco
http://maps.google.com/?q=2169+Mission+Street,+94110

When:
Sunday, June 13th
3:00 - 5:00pm

If you haven't been to Noise Bridge before, they are on the third floor. Just hit the buzzer and someone will let you in. No secret password required.

If you can't make it this time but would like to be added to our google group and get updates on future meetings, PM me your email address.

Hey could you guys help me learn how to impression? I have most of the stuff and I THINK I will be able to make it this weekend depending on weather my friend gets back in time or not. Thanks.

Absolutely. But it will most likely be the focus of an entire meeting so there's enough time to play around with it. Of course, we can talk about whatever you want this weekend, but we won't have the key blanks we'll need to devote much time to it. There is no real agenda for Sunday other an introduction to both lock picking and the people around you.

I'm definitely excited about having a meeting that focuses solely on impressioning though. If only because I am so slow at it.

I went to the NorCal TOOOL meeting. Although the building looked a little bit sketch from the outside, the space was really nice, and the people were either helpful or nice to pick with. I would recommend you come if you were not sure about it. I learned a nice handcuff trick ;D

They defiantly took some pictures... I just don't know who has them or where they have gone off too.

Bam! http://tooolsf.imgur.com/

Just a few, but we had a pretty good turnout. Someone else took more, but I've been too busy this week to snag 'em

Yah, the space couldn't be better. It actually runs the whole floor of that entire building. Not to mention that they're psyched to have us there. We'll try not to overstay over welcome :) 15 people total showed up, but had 12 there at it's peak. More have even gotten in touch since Sunday too. So much so that we're thinking of adding an extra meeting for those who can't make the weekends.

Next one will most likely be in a couple weeks. There's enough interest that I think it's safe to say we'll be meeting pretty regularly. Impressioning next time if I can get the blanks, vices, and few more files. Possibly getting everyone to make a Medecoder if I can cut the brass beforehand and get a box of X-actos. We'll see. That might not be as feasible as it seems in my head. Either way, we'll do something fun.

So yah, coast to coast.

That's awesome! I may have to head down from Sonoma County to make one of your meetings.

It's a bit after the initial meeting, but I'd certainly be interested in attending in the future. I was suspecting that Noisebridge had to have something going on with lock picking. I'm amazed that it's taken this long to get something a tad more formal going.

Lots of good people at Noise Bridge. Our next meeting will be in a couple weeks. Probably the 22nd, but shoot me your email address if you would like to be added to the group and get updates.

I may have to drive over the hill to SF for a meetup. If any of you guys want to come to Reno drop me a line we can have an evening of lockpicking fun and many bars here.
