Hi I am a kind of new to lockpicking but I have tried many a time on my own padlocks (it's my hobby) it's always great to hear the lock pop open when you get it picked. I know I will find this site more helpful to me now that I joined compared to when I was just searching info on it. :)

Hey, i don't know if this topic is still.. something! got used blabla :S:P.

I'm Heleen (yes a girl :P)and I'm 16 years old and i live in the Netherlands. I started to pick locks when I could not find the key of my safe. It worked with a thing.. cant find the word a.. paper clip? is that english? i dont know.. but anyways with a paperclip and a needle (the kind that builders use).

How ?:P I used a hammer and hit the first half centimeter until it was good enough to go trough a key hole ( and of course first i bend the first half centimeter a few degrees :P).

Figured I'd say hello. I've lurked around this site for awhile, figured it's finally time to make an account. Been picking off and on for about two years, but I'm just finally starting to teach myself more than rake rake click.. Currently I'm working on learning how pins feel in their various settings and how to get around spool pins.

At about nine or ten years of age got interested in magic. I was ok with coins and cards, but escape appealed to me. My father supported this interest by purchasing a set of handcuffs from a retired police officer for me to use. Years have passed and I doubt I could force a card or impress anyone with coin magic at this point, but the interest in opening locks is still with me.

When I heard about locksport something clicked and there was a realization that it was time to take a look at something I hadn't put any effort into in years.

I've picked a simple 4-pin padlock a few times, mainly by raking and a 6 pin cylinder twice.

Hello everyone,

I started lockpicking two weeks ago when I got fed up with locking myself out of my own storage units, storage closets, safety boxes, garage door, etc. I guess I have a tendency to do that.

I bought a Southord 20pc because I left my key inside my storage unit and didn't want to cut the lock.

Well, I sucked at picking the lock, had to cut it anyway, and that day I went home and read everything about lock picking, watched a bunch of videos and ever since I have been practicing on any lock I can find laying around anywhere. I'm hooked!
