DIY Lock Pick Practice Set

I saw this on one of the sites I browse and thought of you guys right away. It isn't as fancy as the commercial ones, but hey, for about a third of the cost (if you have the locks) it isn't so bad.

I did mine a little different and used some scrap wood from home depot that they had for $.51 but was not as wide as the one in the article and instead just installed three old dead bolts in a stack one above the other, works great, and I can practice picking multiple locks quickly.

Enjoy!

I don't know where, but I swear I've seen that before. Good find though as I had forgotten.

They have this kind of thing at the lockpicking contests at DEFCON, and also I made something like this when I bought some door knobs at a yard sale

Looks pretty easy to build and 51¢ for wood from home depot sounds good to me!

Thanks for the post.

Would be neat to add a place for mortise cylinders for an easy change station.

Ive been thinking of making a multi sided, 6 or 8 sides maybe, tapered collumn into a table lamp that has some various holes to mount locks for practice, and some way to cover them over for when you don't want people to be asking about the wierd lamp. So far, I haven't done a thing to produce it though, but when I do, I'll sell them here like birdhouses. 8)

Yeah if you go into the back where they cut the wood, there is usually a bin of scrap wood that was either broken in transit or what ever. I was going to buy the whole long eight foot piece for something like $10!
