Made this Tshock´s genious spinner a while ago with a normal wooden stick as a handle and it worked great. After snapping my fingers a few times I figured that there must be a better way to trigger this spinner with one hand. And here is the result, spinner loaded:
It can be used both ways, cw and ccw. When loading it for ccw, I don´t use the trigger´s groove but the end of it. Have worked 100% with my attempts.
Materials are: a block of wood, mouse trap spring, wiper insert bent in L-shape, piece of heat shrink, one big staple to hold the spring at place, half a saw blade, M4 bolt, 2 M4 washers and one M5 nylock (you can also put a lot M4 washers here, only purpose is to get some clearance between the trigger and the wood)
I drilled a hole to the wood exactly the same diameter as the spring and then cut the wood so that there is only half a hole left. It holds the spring in place very nicely. Drilled one small hole to get the spring wire secured inside the wood. Then two more small holes to get the staple at place to prevent the spring from twisting. Wiper insert is secured in its place with heat shrink.
Trigger is from a hacksaw blade. It has a diameter 4mm hole to suit M4 bolt perfectly. Drilled and tapped M4 thread to the wood. Get the trigger off the wood to use it more easily, I put a M5 nylock there.
Filed a groove to the saw blade to fit the turning part deep enough so that it holds its place and doesn´t come out accidentally.
When not loaded the turning part directs opposite of the trigger. So it provides a 180 degree turning, enough for every purpose. If you want, you can take an additional turn to get 540 degree. Spring will then be very armed!
This is a very accurate tool to put in where you need it to be and don´t need to worry about snapping your fingers anymore. Enjoy!
