Hello!

I have benefited tremendously from this site for about 8 months now and thought I would finally join the conversation!

Picking locks has been a hobby for me on and off for about 4 years now. While I have had great success at most basic pin tumbler locks, I always seem to hit a wall when I try to branch out into higher security locks. This past year my effort has been to spend more time developing the skills and challenge myself, so thanks to all who support this website - I have found more useful knowledge about locks here than anywhere else on the web!

Hello, I'm completely new here. I have been working on the Foley-Belsaw training kit and am thirsty for more picking knowledge and challenges and I am very glad I found this site.

Hi everyone. I'm a newbie here, bought a set of Southord Slimline picks to have a play with and see if picking is for me. I became interested after a very expensive padlock broke on my garage and forced me to be detached from my pride and joy for a few days. I also work within the security arena and my work occasionally strays into penetration testing and questioning entry techniques (which I admittedly know little about).

I've bought a practice Euro type lock to get me started but as it's not arrived yet I had a go at a spare non-branded 5 pin euro lock I had at home (just upgraded to Cisa Atral S). I managed to pick the lock within 10-15 minutes, although I think this was beginners luck as when I'd reset it I was playing around with it for another hour or so with no luck!!

Think I'll visit the old car boot at the weekend and pick up a few locks to play with.

Hi. Thanks for the thread. Found the site by surfing for a solution to a problem. Always been interested in the mechanical aspect of locks, and the craftsmanship of old keys.

I'm new. Really just learning, and wouldn't mind making a career of locksmithing. Saving up for a video course and just purchased my first set of lock picks. We'll see how this goes I suppose. Always enjoy a good chance to learn new skills.

Hi, I'm Rissa. I'm a locksmith in Alaska. I work mostly with Schlage, Falcon, Best, and Von Duprin, and generally in commercial settings. I enjoy picking, but my true love is developing multi-level master systems for large institutions.

Math, yum =)

Hi, I'm from Germany, i go to university and now I'm a new lockpicker. Actually I have picket three locks and I think tommorrow I get my Abus 83c. This is the usual german lock to start picking security pins.
Perhaps my very bad english gets better while posting ;-).

best regards,
Mojito

Hello!

I've meant to start lockpicking for a long time, but I finally got around to ordering a set of picks today. I'm looking forward to adopt this new hobby, and to become part of this community.

Cheers!

Hello ~ I found this lockpick set when cleaning up a deceased relatives house a couple of years ago. I have been scrubbing locks open but now want to learn how to pick on a more professional level as I am often asked at work (I'm in maintenance) to open locks around the plant when the guy with the keys is out of town and such. I have encountered several security type locks that have left me baffled and I hope I can eventually be able to pick them. You have an awesome forum ... thanks for letting me participate
