Hello all. Been a registered member for almost five years now but this is my first post. Been picking locks for the last seven years, but finally getting serious with it. I'm a law enforcement officer by trade and covert entry techniques and bypass techniques really fasinate me. If any members from the long island-nyc area want to get together to discuss picking, feel free to drop me a message.

Mamma always told me not to pick my nose so I had to find something else! I'm actually in Medical School but I've always thought that getting into lockpicking would be cool. Thought that it might be a useful skill to have. I'm looking forward to picking y'alls brains as well, as I begin this new hobby!

Hello folks. I just joined after stumbling across the site by following links from ITS Tactical. I am always interested in how mechanical things works and have always been intrigued by "simple" machines like locks.
I look forward to learning many things here!

I am brand new to this site and lock picking as a whole, but the more I learn about it the more excited I become. I have always been fascinated with how things work and love practical skill sets. I am really surprised that I have not found this sooner.

Hi guys! I'm not really new but I can't seem to access my old account. I have the email address, but can't remember my PW nor my old username and I can't re-register under that email. Frustrating because I had access to all the areas previously, though I wasnt real active.

So I'm just starting over, although if a moderator can help me with my previous account, I would be grateful.

Anyhow, I got into lockpicking as a hobby while I was in the army, I'm no pro at it, well I suppose technically I am, but I'm not going to win any competitions at even the local level. I do enjoy it though, it is what got me into locksmithing as a career, eventually.

So this is me saying hello, again. :)

Hello all.
Do some key cutting at work, so got interested in the more technical bits of how locks work. Just bought meself a cheap set of picks and have successfully played around with a couple of locks, opening them without understanding what I'm doing.
Saw the site, had a read, looks good, thanks in advance for all the info you guys have on here.
Best wishes from Devon, UK

Hi everyone

I bought myself a lockpick set alomost 15 years ago but couldn't find much "how to" info at the time (apart from the MIT guide). I wasn't even sure how to position the tension wrench, so I never had any success at picking a lock. However, over the last week I dug out my set, checked out this site and YouTube, and managed to pick my first lock. Hopefully, it won't be my last.

Cheers, Andy17

Heey everyone,

My name is Hiedva andd im 17years old.

How i started using locKpicking as a hobby?
I lost the key from my safe so i was looking at youtube how i could open it without a key.
It opened with only using a nail ( made it flatter(?) With a hammer and then bend it) as a wrench and a paperclip.. When i figured that it opened i was so exiting and wanted to pick more locks.
Then i got bored, now 1month later i saw White Collar with the charming Neal Caffrey and he was picking a lock, i thought. O_o' i started picking a lock and it was still awesome.

Now i do it as my hobby and thats also how i found this site :).
