Purchase advice on replacing ATRA lock on DIERRE door

Postby e_haris » 3 Oct 2011 12:26

Dear all,

First of all I would like to congratulate you on the very informative forum and secondly ask for your tolerance, because I use your forum toward a purchase advice. But I am totally confused so I would like an advice from your side.
I live in Greece and I wish to replace my old ATRA lock on a DIERE security door with a new one (with cylinder or not).

I would like to ask you for your recommendations, because any retailer proposes me a different model.

My request is to have a new lock, which provides very high security against thieves.

I will really appreciate your advices.

Regards

Haris

Hello,

Is your lock body similar to the one in these photos? http://pdf.archiexpo.com/pdf/dierre/atr ... -4072.html

And do you need to replace the lock because it was kicked in or broken? If it is old, they may not make your exact model number or it has been replaced by a newer model.

Hi and thank you for your quick reply.

My key looks like the following one : http://www.keymam.com/userfiles/2009032313083715729.jpg
The door is quite old (approx 15 years).

The reason that I want to replace it is because it is told that the specific lock are opened with universal keys.

Is this true?

They propose to me the motura omega. It is a good one?

Any advice will be really appreciated.

Regards

A small correction:

esety omega plus

is the name of the lock that is mainly promoted in Greece.

I would like your opinion on this.

I don't think so. I've never heard about an "universal key" for it.
Anyway if you choose a new Mottura or a CISA you won't be disappointed 8)

Remember that the lock is just a small part of a bigger system called security.

Good luck :)

Hi!

It's true! My door with a lock like yours (ATRA) was opened recently with some tampening tool, and the police and other people confirmed that are several cases per day.

I changed the locker by a new Dierre model with the Lock Trap System and a cylinder New Power, but I'm checking around if anyone knows of picking this recent model...
