I have been busy, but one night leaving the house I looked at my halfway bent peice of hacksaw blade. Now, trying a cold bend I did not bend it 90 but something like 45 degrees. Well, I made it 90 on a cold bend. Just bend 40 then let it sit, mine probably sat for a week, then bend more. It didn't snap and doesn't feel as if any cracks are there, so I may play with another piece tonight. I figured I would post this so everyone could make one easily and I will post the specifics of the blade too later.

I was wondering if the short bladed version was suitable for non-auto use.

Advise simply using a propane torch to heat the hacksaw material for the bends and quenching in oil for strength.
