Master Lock DSO0603 Deadbolt

Postby Abbe » 3 Dec 2011 21:04

I've got a number of Kwikset single cylinder deadbolts that I can pick or rake open fairly constantly. Right now my nemesis is a Master Lock Deadbolt DSO603. I'm feeling 5 pins but I can't find a binding pin to save my life regardless of how much torque I apply to the tension tool.

Any tips would be appreciated.

How long have you been picking and what are you using for a wrench and for picks. That lock isn't that difficult and has a Kwikset KW1 keyway with 5 pins. Most people just starting use too much tension/torque on the wrench. I'll tell you more, but first what tools are you using?

I've been picking for a couple of months. I'm using a set of Southord PXS-14. I've tried the half diamond and small hook picks. As far as tension, I've been starting a little heavy looking for the first binding pin, but so far no luck. When I find the binding pin, I back way off the tension.

I got it today. I worked my way front to back very slowly with multiple passes with the short hook and it popped. I guess I'm more familiar with a strong binding pin and working my way around that. This lock had very uniform binding
