My Christmas present to me!!

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

My Christmas present to me!!

Postby tima4h » 23 Dec 2011 2:47

Hi all! I decided to treat My self to a Christmas present, because the homemade pick I made is getting a bit painful (figuratively AND literally) and my Allen key torsion wrench has got a torsion twist, ironically!! See new toys below!

You opened your present a bit too early

Now that you have some standard tools, you may try to make some hand made ones, with a size and shape reference at hand.

Cheers :)

LOL yes I did open it a bit early :P before I bought these I had a shot at making some from hacksaw blades, but they were a bit rough. These have a much better feel, and the few locks I have are a lot 'clearer' to pick with them. I will say though, I'm not a fan of the torsion wrench. Its got kind of a weird angle (on BOTH ends). I might have another crack at making a new one :)

What brand are these?

Everybody says "hacksaw blades". I've found that band saw blades are better. Harder metal but more flexible. Hack saw blades are too soft and they don't "spring" back into shape like band saw blades.

These are pretty cheap GOSO picks...

It are not my favorite, they dont have the best feedback. But as the TS wanted, they do have a nice handle...
