Hello all,
This is my first post here, so I hope I am asking this question in the right place. Any help with this is much appreciated.
I have a unique job in New York City in the U.S. where I am licensed to enforce Court Orders. One of the mandates of these Court Orders is to often pick/break locks to apartments and get inside. My job is a bit strange in the sense that I often work without a professional locksmith and am forced to get in myself. Add to this the fact that I usually have many of these break-ins to do in a day, so I have to try to get them done as quickly as efficiently as possible. Although I am not a professionally trained locksmith, I have learned on the job how to do this to a reasonable extent. Given the nature of my Office, I am licensed to buy and possess all locksmith tools.
Even though I am usually able to get in using traditional picking/breaking/drilling methods, I have found that many of the traditional methods or either cumbersome, ineffective or both. I am searching for some alternatives that will allow me to get in 1) quickly and 2) easily.
My question is: do any of you experienced locksmiths out there know of any advanced tools that allow you to either break or pick locks at a very quick pace and with minimal skill required? Price is not much of a factor here, as I am willing to drop a pretty penny here in order to improve this process. What I am looking for is something quick and efficient. Keep in mind that it does not matter if the lock is damaged in the process; after we get in we normally change the lock immediately anyway.
If anyone knows of any advanced tools out there that an average person with average experience like myself might not be aware of, please let me know. All help is much appreciated.
