snake pick

One of my favorite picks. I found this picture on the forum:

I always insert the snake pick the other way though, i always thought the way showed would bend the pick. Does it matter, or is it just a matter of preference?

You can use your rakes any way you like! :)

I prefer single pin picking, but sometimes I even rake with a hook. :) I use my rakes either way, like having 2 picks in one.. There are many different raking techniques. of course. You can even rake on the way in, which could be called push-raking, or even, hehe, bulldozing. :) Some people refer to raking as scrubbing, but I consider scrubbibg to be when you rake both on the way in and on the way out... back and forth if you will. The way some people do this, I would call it the pin-sawing technique! :) speaking of saws, you can often get good results with a sawtooth rake, but don't use that upside down or you end up with just a straight pick. (Also pretty effective, but not good for raking) :D

I like that pointofview pic too, btw! :)

The snake pick I use is the same one I made, so it only works one way but works well, It goes in the way that it's shown in that nifty little gif =)

Yeh thats my favourite sig outta this forum :) . I gotta make one of those. I think it is a matter of preference coz by the looks of it, both of the ways should work. By looking at the pick, i see the bump should be at the pins, but as its been stated, its a matter of preference.

You can use the snake either way. I like using it the way shown and I like bulldozing my way thru instead of back and forth. If a pin is set incorrectly in the back. Then I bring a small hook in and push it up like illustrated there.
