gozzo, you're gonna need to find some thin steel strips, about .020 thick (not sure what that would be in metric). In the states street cleaning machines drop them, also wndsheild wiper blades have inserts made of stainless steel that work well. Ive also found different springs here and there that have worked well.
Using this type of much harder material will be challenging but possible. Steel gets very hot while grinding and needs to be quenched (cooled) periodically in order to retain its strength. There was some idea of removing it and dipping in water to this-this would work but i think it would be very time consuming. After thinking on this for a couple of days i think i have a good solution. A can of compressed air for cleaning keyboards out should work. If you hold the can upside-down and spray the propellant comes out in liquid form, its very cold and evaporates almost immediately. I'm thinking its not flammable, but make sure its not.
I would make slow steady cuts in the stainless and spray bursts on the material every so often. It will take some getting used to. If you find your steel is changing color your cutting too deeply at one time or not cooling enough. When im making picks i avoid turning the steel colors unless i'm doing a very rough pre cut and ill be grinding off the entire area that got really hot.
