This keyway looks hungry

Postby GWiens2001 » 15 Nov 2012 1:44

Saw this on eBay. Yikes. More snaggles than a shark's mouh.

I'd be afraid it would eat my picks, then start after my fingers!

I have one. They are only 5 pin, not 6 pin as stated from the factory. It is interesting to note that the shell is drilled and capped for 6 pins but the plug is only drilled for 5 pins.

Thanks for the link, I couldn't resist and bought one.
And now that I've seen averagejoe's pictures I'm happy I got it.

Cheers :)

Femurat,

Let me know how it picks. Funds are too tight at the moment for me to buy one, as my wife's birthday is coming up in less than 2 weeks. She is NOT into locks, so I can't get one for her.

I've got one of these as well, not picked it yet. The keyway isn't as nasty as it looks, but those driver pins are a pain. The bitting on mine is really annoying, to add to the fun... joe, the bitting on yours looks quite pleasant. Wanna swap?

Looks like the bottom (er... top?) of the keyway is pretty wide open. It doesn't look too bad as long as your picks aren't terribly thick.

It is GE GE, I think the patent is on the shoulder of the blank, marketed as something like " Stop Key " I seem to recall.
