Hi all I am jorge. I just got my first kit from Southord which is the 5 piece kit, i picked a lock within the first 15 minutes and picked my friends house door, took a dump in his toilet, and let him walk into it. Haha, its all in fun and I am really having a blast learning all I can. Locked several of the file cabinets at work (they dont give us keys, so they are always open) Hope to like the site!

Please do not pick locks that are in use or that do not belong to you. You might think it is funny, but you can get into a LOT of trouble and give the rest of us a bad rap. The fewer people who know you can pick locks, the fewer people who can blame you for things you did not do. If you a known for opening things that are not yours at work, then when something is missing, you might get blamed, even if you had nothing to do with it!

Hey there.
I'm Madison, I've stumbled upon this place looking for a basic set of lockpicks, and I'm trying to glean as much from one place as I can.

Some about me... I am a Brazilian jiu-jitsu instructor, survivalist, and shooting enthusiast. I like to modify nerf guns and sling shots. I got a dummy lock from my great grandfather as a lesson in patience years ago, and never could figure it out. So I'm taking up the thing again to figure it out.

I'm an avid learner, and I'd like to add locksport to my hobby list. Any advice, or resources sent my way would be much appreciated.

While I've been vaguely aware of lockpicking for some time, it wasn't until a friend of mine gave me a pick and a newbie cylinder that I really took an interest. From the moment the last of those three pins set, I was pretty well hooked. I've been picking on my own, but figure I have much to learn from everyone here.

Hello from Pennsylvania,

I am 33 years old from southwest PA. I first became interested in lock picking when I came across the paper clip picking on ITS Tacticals website a few years ago. I just recently came across that page again which eventually led me here. I did successfully pick my only lock, a Master Lock no.1, with the paper clip rake and tension wrench. After reading this forum for a few days, I decided to go to the garage and make my first pick.

I used a hacksaw blade for the pick. I made a not so neat snake rake using only a flat file, chainsaw file and a 4" grinder. I also made a makeshift tension wrench out of a piece of my electrical fish tape. I was able to pick the Master no.1 with it although it worked better as a pick than a rake.

I plan to purchase a factory set of picks/wrenches soon, I'm trying to decide on which set.

I have already learned a ton from this site and I know I will learn more. I also hope to be able to contribute as I gain more knowledge.

Been a while since I've posted on forums outside of the good parts of 4chan. I really admire the community like this based on a unique hobby, and I'd like to contribute and learn.

My lockpicking kit consists of pen clips and bobby pins stored in a old game boy game case. I am an avid gamer and a kendo practicineer.

I only just stumbled upon your website today, as i was having troubles with a 1 1/2" 4 combination lock that was stuck open and sofar the information is being really helpful.
Uhm, something about me... I'm an IT Tech for a few public schools in Western Australia, i love my motorcycles, my pubs, and my missus.
I've always wanted to learn a few things about lock picking, but never really pursued it since the amount of information about it is pretty low (Understandably considering the sensitive nature of the skill). It is something I'd like to pursue, since i like learning new skill sets, and like a new challenge.

I've been here a little while now, but I never did introduce myself.

I do software development, with a focus on security. But, there's only so much software can do if someone with malevolent intent has physical access to the computer... I think you can see where I'm going with this.
