Hello Lockpicking101.com Members,
Please take note of the new rules for qualifying to apply for membership in the Advanced Forum area. I hope everyone will enjoy the new rules over the old 40 posts / 90 days membership rule.
New 2013 Advanced Forum Access rule:
In order to apply for access to the Advanced Lock Forums you must have at least 50 *good posts AND be a participating member of the forum for at least 50 days. That is the new 50/50 rule.
∙ Wait a minute, it was 40 posts and now it's 50, that's too many! A: 50 Posts in 50 days is 1 post per day. We get to see who you are, how you play with others, and how much you know before you get extra access to the special areas, that seems like a fair setup.
∙ Why I should have to wait 50 days to get into your elite clubhouse?! A: We believe the forum has a lot to offer to both new pickers and seasoned locksmiths. There is an astounding amount of information to read and explore in the publicly available forums. The whole point is to spend some time getting to know people, to ask questions, teach others, get along with others, become part of this great community and demonstrate growth that one can handle getting access to other areas of the forum. If you can post 1 decent post a day for 50 days, then you can apply, that's not too much to ask. And trust me, it's not an elite clubhouse, most people who meet the criteria and apply will get approved!
∙ How can I possibly write 50 good and interesting posts? A: This is where most members get it wrong. We aren't looking for you to wow us with 50 posts of how smart you are about locks and picking. You don't have to post 50 tutorials or 50 break down diagrams. The posts we review should be useful and informative, ask questions, help new members who came after you, show personal growth when it comes to lock and lock picking related knowledge, and that you truly are part of the community, and not just here to get to the Advanced area for the sake of having access. Note: 50 posts saying things like "cool lock bro" or "I have that pick set too" are not the kinds of posts we are looking for, and those will not be counted in your favor. It is also not a race, there is plenty to read and do in the non Advanced areas while you work up to opening more doors and areas.
All other Advanced Forum Access application rules still apply, please see the other Announcements here: http://www.lockpicking101.com/viewforum.php?f=15
See you in the Advanced Forums!
