Can anyone ID this semi-automatic key duplicator?

Postby Nitrous » 11 Jan 2013 12:58

Hi folks,

This cutter has a Curtis drive belt on it. (Can't figure out how to post an image)

There is very limited ID on the machine, but there is a PN1901 on the casting. The cutter is to the right side, with the pulley and motor on the right.

I'd like to know what the proper replacement cutter would be for this machine. Instruction manual would be nice too.

Is there a place with pictures somewhere?

Thanks
Doug

Some further searching might have identified it.

I think this is a Curtis 2000 automatic key cutter.
Anyone have a manul for this handy?

Thanks for any information.

Did you not see the reply from keysman up above who already said it was a Curtis 2000 an hour ago?

;-)

Nope, I missed it.
Don't think it appeared on my iPad display.
Sorry 'bout that.

Thanks all

You got your hands on a real gem here. Very good quality and reliably consistent. I believe it's missing a rod from the "original key" jaw/vise that runs against the guide after the key is done cutting to ease the duplicate into the brush...

Got it for $100 from an East Indian corner store.
The plunger on the carriage seems frozen. Not sure how far apart I'll have to take it apart.

100 bucks! You did well! Looking at the pic again, I think it'a also missing a handle on the left to lower the carriage and start the cutting cycle...
Take it apart and you'll figure it out. well worth fixing IMO!
Good luck and have fun doing it.
