Bumping technique

Postby lockstar5000 » 3 Mar 2013 3:07

Hi-

Am wondering if you guys just use your fingers to apply tension while bumping or if you use some sort of lever. I saw a vid on bumping and noticed that the guy had placed a rod of some sort into the hole in the head of the key to apply tension. I tried it using a cylindrical file and it worked pretty well, and no danger of smashing your fingers! What do you guys do?

My favorite is a skewer: http://www.webstaurantstore.com/10-bamboo-skewer-100-bag/48510SKEW.html

Cheep, easy to replace and can be used for cooking too :D

I use my longest tension wrench and pull one side and push the other with my thumb and pointer to get nice even torque. i get amazing results and keeps your fingers safe
"How does it work?"

I got tired of hitting my self, so what I did was drill 2 holes in the key and made a plastic lever and riveted them together.
