SmartKey can be a tough one to pick. Definitely not a good way to learn if you're new to picking. I'd suggest starting with something simpler, like a normal pin tumbler lock. A $10 deadbolt from a hardware store should suffice.

Are you locked out of a door or is this a lock on your work bench that you are using to learn the hobby of lockpicking? If you're locked out, it's probably not a good time to start learning how to pick, and as MBI already said, this lock is going to be a bad one to start learning the concepts on. The reason is because it does not work like a normal pin tumbler lock, so half of our instruction manuals here would make no sense when applied to that lock model.

What exact tools are you using? home made or a pick set?

Happy picking,

Thank you for your replys.

It's a practice workbench lock, and I was interested on the workings of this lock since, when I rake or pick I don't feel the pins go anywhere. I use a Sparrow Gotham Kit, with a Bogota and a Standard .025 Pick. I am about 1 month old in the picking industry :P.
