Well, for starters, what kind of lock is it? Second, have you read the MIT guide? Third, how much tension are you applying?

Also, I would have to strongly advise against picking a lock that you actually use. Just in case you do mess something up, it owuld be bad news...

I think you are too late with that warning. According to another post, he apparently got the tension wrench jammed in the lock and had to take the door apart to free it.

To the original poster: really, you need to think gentle, patience, care and tiny movements. Locks are picked by teasing, not by bullying.

Ummm, Not to be cruel, but your signature really doesn't fit. Yet.

Keep at it Michaelman25. Read, and read, and read some more.

It dosen't work that way. The only thing guranteed to open a lock the first time, is the key. Picking a lock is done by making the lock 'think' the key is being used. To do this, you HAVE to have a good picture in your head of what is happening inside the lock. It will also take a while for all your senses to feel the same thing.

Keep with it. Don't get discouraged.

Almost forgot. YES, the MIT guide is very informative. It will teach exactly what is happening inside the lock.

not to be picky or anything - it's just starting to wear out my scrolling finger when going through your posts - you may want to have a quick read of rule 11 and get rid of those extra lines in your sig block - it's kind of a pain to have to scroll down, read one line of post, then scroll down a whole heap more to get past your sig..

:D
