Newbie question. Jiggler or bogata?, first post!

Hello all! Sorry if this has already been beat to death. I was thinking about expanding my very basic tool kit and was wanting recommendations on jigglers. Ill be honest, I'm not really too good at picking and just now starting to spp. I'm somewhat familiar with how they work. Also, I've been reading about bogatas. They seem to be a hit when people use the right technique. For someone who is fair at picking, would I be better off with jigglers or bogata?

My personal favorite is one of Rainundo's hand made Bogota sets. No company I have seen comes anywhere near to the quality of his work.

i personally prefer Bogota picks over most "jigglers". I guess it depends on the type of lock you want to rake too.
To be honest i'm not exactly sure when a pick is called a "jiggler". All "jigglers" i've seen where for wafer locks, for example old car and motorbike locks..

On a pin and tumbler lock you can overset pins when jiggling pretty easily, and the only way to fix it is to release most of your tension and let them drop. On a wafer lock, due to the fact you can push the pins both up and down, overset pins when jiggling aren't a problem since they just get pushed back the other way when pressure is applied the other direction.

single pin is the best way to go for learning how stuff works/what's going on in the lock, so some different hooks are most important in my opinion.

Thanks for the replies! I'm not going to give up on single pin picking, I enjoy the challenge and my skills are improving, slowly. I do think ill look into getting a set of Raimundo's (sp) picks. From what

I understand, I can order them from him on this forum?

Squelchtone, actually just made a bogata. Finished it up about 20 minutes ago! I must say I am very impressed. I can only imagine how we'll one of Raimundo's will work. Looks like I may have no choice but to PM him after payday.
