Picked m' first lock threeday

Yep. Killing time at my fathers place and I picked some of the master padlocks he had. Good times. He feels insecure now that he has a bunch of open locks. Blah, My brother mocked me... It took me like, twenty minutes to pick the first one, and the other ones eight-fifteen =\
This might seem a bit like a nooby bluffing, but all week I've been picking at the wafer locks around my school, so I sorta knew what to feel for and crap.
For some reason it feels like the more tension and pressure you put on the tool and the deep hook pick, the more readily wafers will submit to you *shrug*

Hehe, thanks mate =) . I'm lucky, my school only has schlages and wafer locks to keep the students on one side or the other. I'm going to get a bit more practice and then try to pick the doors that go onto the roof. I'm thinking that if I open it up and noone notices, I can get my buddies up there after the first good snowfall and we could make a snowman or something. Kind of a lame idea, but I know it'll bug the facualty.

I honestly don't understand it Romstar.

That statement has been said over, and over. And not just by you.

Seems that kids these days have no ethics, and very poor work attitudes. It's like the world OWES them something just because they are here.

i was implying the same thing but yeah, most of us kids would take no notice unless they get caught doing it, even then we would still pick it.

Theres little to no chance of gettin caught picking a lock in the bathroom, teachers have their own loo's . And I wasn't trying to break into the little box's, I was just getting a feel for tension and pin manipulation. Though one box did pop open unintentionally ^^'
And holy crap Buggs , What an angry little individual you are ^.^ Granted mate, I was messing around with locks that wern't mine, but I dont think the world owes me shiet. In fact, I know first hand the world owes me nothing and will give me nothing unless I work for it.

The masses tend to frown upon certain things being taught freely, at least hear in America. They are paranoid and the 5 oclock news will do a special to show how available lockpicking info is on the internet, all your houses belong to theives... Basically cause of that stigma people here are more paranoid and rightfully so. No one here wants anything that is discussed here to be used illegally. We are all aware of the many reasons why picking a lock is one of the last options someone commiting a crime is gonna use. The masses don't understand. Promoting ethics and restricting what items can discussed is necessary to ensure this place can continue to exist. We do not want to assist you in picking locks you do not own (unless of course you have permision AND it is legal).

^Ditto that! What we don't want, is for someone who should obviously know better, to get picked up by the Police, questioned and charged. In the questioning, it comes out that the person is a member of LP101...not the sort of attention we want directed torwards this site. Although we have nothing to hide on here, the headlines could read "kid learns lockpicking on internet site, then breaks into school". The media likes to sensationalise everything, mediocre information doesn't sell newspapers or get TV ratings.
