If it's the kind of lock I think it is, it can be picked pretty easily.

Go to a hardware store and buy a plumbing supply line for a sink or toilet. Look for the type that is just a piece of grey tubing.

Take a knife and make two cuts into the end of the tubing. About 3/4" deep, and treat the end of the tube like you were cutting a pie into four pieces.

Insert the tool into the lock. Wiggle. Voila'

nasydave -- how does that work? Isnt the tubing to big for the opening?

I used to have one of these tools and lost it, but from my memory, it was really small, and i cant see how the grey tubing would work.

There was a recent post on these and I will offer the same input as before. The correct tools that open these locks are restricted. But, I have a substitute tool that is just as effective. I personally have 7 different sizes. (Lengths & Diameters) I found them at a hardware surplus store where there were literally thousands of these things in big bins.

The concept is quite simple. Insert tool, crank the nut to spread the tool and grasp the spring loaded ring. Pull and Taaa Daaa!

It is far better to remain silent and be thought of as stupid, rather than opening your mouth and removing all possible doubt.

Use a metric screw about 2.5" long. Forgot the diameter....(just fit inside snug)

Run it through the hole...when feel it bind up a bit then just screw it up a few half turns.

To remove just pull out on the screw. You can put the lock back on by pulling out on the screw while holding

the "lock" and install it back into the housing.

Now just unscrew the screw to remove your "key".
