Can I remove Euro Cylinder with no keys but unlocked door

Postby draked » 6 Nov 2013 10:00

My door is unlocked and can be opened/ closed, the multi point mechanism is working but unfortunately I have no keys for the lock (moved in and the owner has not left any keys and says they lost them).

Yale euro cylinders are pretty cheap so was hoping to remove the old and fit a new one.

Can this be done without the keys?

Online instructions always use the keys to remove the lock, is there any way to do this without the keys? If so can you send me simple instructions.

Thanks
Dan

If you want to take it out and replace it then open the door and look at the inside of the door and undo the screw and it will pop out. Out of my poor explanation I decided to google for you.

You need to turn the cam inside, so pick the lock. Unless it has a thumbturn inside. The key needs to turn (often) 45º to position the cam correctly
