I heard commando locks are great. Order one the other day (padlock).

Good job!

Another Millenco Magnum.

(Sigh) This lock could have been so much more...loose tolerances have made it as loose as a goose and so it picks rather easily. The 9 pin versions offer a little more security...but not a lot.

A valuable lesson was learnt today

http://i.imgur.com/nTgLej8.jpg

I have been feeling that my tension was way off lately, so I decided to try something: I applied the bare minimum of tension I could (So light that the tension tool would eventually fall off if I ligtened it a little) and the lock opened effortlesly in no time.

I have been picking since 2009 and I have been GREATLY underestimating what 'light tension' meant and being a touchless brute all this time. Never too late to learn!

Yep. same here. I have 3 TESA TE5 like that. Exactly the same very light tension needed.

Everyday is a schoolday - always something to learn. In fact, I think that's what keeps me rockin with locks.

Wink Haus with a very nasty, paracentric keyway. Because of the bitting and the keyway, it could only be tensioned from the bottom. 5 pins, one deep spool and one t-pin/spool hybrid. The drivers are interesting since they're hollow to allow the springs to slide in about 1/8". Very light springs in the lock and 8 passive profile pins on the side.

Nice job Brian! I've been wanting to get one of those Wink Haus locks for a long time now. Looks like a really fun lock to pick, and a nice one for the collection. Well done.

Well done Brian,

my winkhaus that has the first two pins very short like yours. I had no problems tensioning from the top as usual.

I picked a Potent Secur S34 that I got from a friend I helped replace it with a new lock. I also added a thread about it.

Cheers :)
