Lock wont lock HELP!!!

Postby Ultimatederrenfan » 26 Oct 2004 5:56

I think the answer to this maybe a plug spinner, but im not too sure what that thing does, anyway i managed to pick a single sided wafer lock, not that impressive then???
I unlocked it and turned it 180 degrees, but i can't pick it back again,
any info on getting i tlocked again?

Plug spinner

Postby oldlock » 26 Oct 2004 6:20

A plug spinner will not solve your problem, it is a handy item when you pick a lock the wrong way, you turn the plug back until it is nearly at the locking position, charge the spinner and insert into the keyway, press the button and hey-presto (with a bit of luck) the spinner will slam the plug back around so quickly that the lock cannot relock.

Anyway - what it sounds like with your lock is that it has simply relocked in another positon, cam locks can do that, so you will need to pick it back the other way.

Ok then, so thinking abou tit, are plug spinners electrical, or just "wind-up" type?

You just wind them back so they are ready to be sprung the other way, put them into the lock, press the button and 'ping', hopefully the plug whizzed around fast enough so the pins didn't have a chance to settle at the shear line.

The lock has to be picked so the plug is rotating freely to use this.
