Today I picked a little cheap padlock that I picked up free without keys at a garage sale last weekend.

I must assume that G stands for garbage. The plug is drilled for 4 pins, but only has 2. I happened to bump into them sliding the tension wrench in, and felt a little give, so I tensioned a bit and the lock popped. I did go ahead and SPP it as well, but that was really a joke.

This is the 12 pin lock I picked. I need to know if you can identify it and how to gut it.

Looks like a cross lock. Will likely need more pictures to figure out how to dissemble it. Any idea what brand it is?

I received my first set of picks today! Sparrows Kick Start. I've SPPed my way through my little collection of padlocks purchased locally. Except the Brinks. I raked it open once but I still can't get it.

Oddly, the terribly cheap chinese locks give me the most trouble.

Zeiss Ikon,
I had to impression a key to one that was in a local church, guarding the sacristy?
IDK, I'm jewish so it's not anything I have ever seen before. A year later the pastor
just crammed the 4-way key into the lock & gave it a twist. I had to go back out &
find a way to fix it.

Zeiss Ikon,

Thats cool! We have 6-pin Zeiss-Ikon deadbolts here, 12 cuts on the key to make it work from both sides of the door.

I have finally worked my way from five pin Medecos to six pins... I have been building up the pins and got stuck at five for the longest time! Did any of you guys experience this as well? It got to be pretty easy to do five(relatively, I'm not trying to act cool! It is still tough) but pin six was like hitting the wall! Anyway, I'm stoked I finally picked my Medeco with six pins a few times today! Yay, a mile stone! :D

Today I picked up a cheap Brinks "high security" 40mm padlock. I have been practicing on A LOT of masterlock brand padlocks and I wanted to see if brinks would be any different. I can say at this price range there is no difference in technique and I can open it very quickly. This is a great lock for beginner single pin picking. I believe it only has 4 pins.

Not the most exciting or rare lock, but it feels good to open for a beginner such as myself.

I also opened a Brinks lock today. No better or worse than a Master Lock. I just will not buy a Master Lock or Brinks Lock for security again.

Good job on the brinks locks. Brinks are known to have spools in them .
