Assured Locksmith Training

Postby Saedis » 28 Oct 2004 6:42

Hey all! :)

Does anyone have any information on the course offered by these guys;

http://www.assuredlocksmithtraining.com/

I'm trying to decide who to get my course through, them or Foley-Belsaw.
I've read lots of good things about FB, but couldn't find any info regarding the other one I linked to.

Anyway, thanks for any info.

Hey,

As of now the only one that I have taken is the Assured Lock...

Little background: I work for ARC ( Association for Retarded Citizens ) as
a... well I don't have a title yet , but I've been doing lockouts,
rekeying, installs and other basic stuff.

I was rip-roar'n and ready to go when I got my kit ( deluxe set ), and read
thru the book & did all the tests ( with the exception of rewriting definitions )
in 3 days that is evenings, after work; and thats the 725 page book.

There wasn't to much there that couldn't be found else where or just by tinkering.
Covered were items like: rim, mortise, storefront, some
automotive, wafers, panic hardware, and a few other items.
( if you really want a list I could probably give you one )

There were a few exercises, but none of them were to be sent in for grading
( there was rekeying [ including master keying ], shimming, very little picking
[ here is a tension wrench & a snake just push it in and out kinda thing ], and
removing / replacing stamped spring covers ).

I can't speak for the FB course ( as much as I would like to.... [ work is supposed to pay for that one ] ), but one would hope that it is better.

but atleast I now have and a HPC duplicator & LAB pinning kit :-) ( ... now if only I had my own shop  lol )
