My new practice lock source

Found a great source of practice locks, for cheap! As many of you know locks are one of the biggest expenses in this hobby. Anyway where I live they recently opened a habitat for humanity store (basically a thrift store that gives all it's profits to habitat for humanity). Anyway, the one here has TONS of padlocks, deadbolts, and door knobs of all kinds. Yesterday I got some master locks and several deadbolts / door knobs (mix of kwikset and schlage). I got them all very cheap and am SPPing each one before I practice anything else on them.

I was hoping to see the more higher end locks on sale. (American, Multilock, etc.)

That would be nice, but all of their inventory comes from donations, so I doubt you will see many people donating those high end locks. Their inventory is changing all the time, so it is possible one might show up.

I never thought of going to a thrift store for locks. I guess I will let them know that I am looking for some if they usually don't put them up on the shelves.

Another thing that I've tried is putting an add out on Craigslist asking for peoples old locks. I made it seem like I was doing them a service, hauling them away and such.

I didn't get any takers, but I thought it was worth posting.
