Disk tumbler locks in general

Hello all!

I have learned how disk tumbler locks work and I'm about to go looking for one or two to buy for practice, but my question is, what tool(s) work best on them in your experiences? I've seen three different tools: Double sided picks, a cross shaped tool with what appeared to be a built in tensor, and a cylindrical tool with what I think is a tensor that resembles the collar on a tubular pick.

Anyone sharing experience in these locks and tools would be appreciated! I can't find much DISKussion on these elsewhere.

The two main types of detainer locks are for either top tensioned (tensioned by the disc closest to the keyhole entrance) and tip tensioned (tensioned by the disc at the tip of the key). The two main kinds of picks are made for one or the other of these types.
