Success! (picking first lock)

I went to wally world and bought a brinks 5 pin padlock. These things (according to the package) are supposed to be unpick able. Well, I successfully did it, in no time flat, and this was the first ever lock I picked. I am so elated (maybe that is the word I am looking for). I didn't doubt myself, I just didn't really realize just how easy it was to do.
I want more of a challenge now. Any suggestions?

Most of the Brinks locks (can't think of any exceptions) have spool pins, which means the first lock you picked had them. In some ways, they actually make picking easier, but it is still a skill that you learned.

As for further challenge - keep in mind that each lock will pick differently. Even locks with the same bitting on the key will pick differently. You may have got an easy one, or it is very likely (based on your post) that you have a delicate touch, which will help you greatly in progressing. Another lock may be much more difficult. Or just as easy.

Congrats! Those locks can be a real chore. As far as what's next.. hmm you could try the Brinks deadbolt cylinder which also has anti picking security spool pins, but is easier to take apart and repin than the padlock. changing the pinning offers new challenges. After that a Schlage 5 or 6 pin deadbolt would be your next stop, and an American Lock padlock after that.

Some of the smaller brass body brinks padlocks I've seen don't, as well as some of their cheaper laminated ones. If you search "Bosnianbill brinks cutaway" on youtube you will find a video with one. Sorry that I can't provide a link.

I've never seen one of their packages claim something as far-fetched as this, usually they say something like "pick resistant". Nevertheless, congratulations. I don't want to downplay your achievement.
