Gatehouse DCX22

Postby lqqk_out » 2 Oct 2015 14:50

I have an older Gatehouse, Model Number: DCX22, Double Cylinder Deadbolt lock installed on an outside gate. I recently evicted a tenant and would like to remove this lock without damaging it. Unfortunately, I seem to have misplaced the instructions and I'm not sure how to remove the cover off the side of the lock to expose the screws. I'm not sure if the cover just pops off using a small flat screwdriver or the cover unscrews. I've even seen some double deadbolt locks with a false cover over the keyhole.
Is anyone familiar with this fairly inexpensive lock and knows how I would gain access to the screws?

TIA

Thank you and I did use google and saw that. Unfortunetaly those instructions are for a different model double cyclinder deadbolt. If you look at the install instruction sheet you linked to, you will see that the inside interior has the two screws exposed. My version of the lock has a cover.

but but.. wait.. is the inside bezel removable to expose the 2 screws? I know Medeco has a nice plate that goes inside and then a snap ring keeps it in place..

nice job finding the manual though!

Based on the line drawing in the illustration having a heavier thicker shadowy lines on the edges of the inside cylinder it looked to me as if it indicated a cover plate of some kind would cover them up.

That step appears to be skipped in the directions.

But those deadbolts are held together by two screws, seen them at Lowe's.
