I find Chubb and Union to be possibly the toughest normal pin tumbler mechanisms to pick open.
They seem to be made to such high tolerances that it sometimes feels like you can't get any pins to set. Then, when you have actually got all the pins set (Confirmed in a cutaway), the plug just wont turn!
It seems that its just a combination of many security features which make them difficult - Bevelled holes in the plug, security tumblers, high tolerances etc.
Bypassing security pins is all about the control of your tension. Search the site for more detailed info.
