When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

I wonder how epoxy would work as a pick handle? Like, make a handle mold with something like a plastic sleeve in it. Then put the pick in the molde and fill the bloody thing with epoxy and let dry. Hmmm...

Yes, Kaotik, great job on the tool design as well as the write up. The tools are brilliant, and the instructions are very clear. I'm going to give this a try as soon as I can round up enough bristles.

Exodus5000, you'll probably have the best success with JB Weld or something similar. This is what I plan on using. JB Weld can be sanded, filed, ground, milled, etc.

Best of luck,

D

I am a big fan of epoxy putty. You can form it any way you want, it can be drilled and filled when hard. Another idea: http://www.sugru.com

Another way to do this without a torch is to bend a round piece of metal like a nail and then beat the crap out of it with a hammer until it is flat. Then file it smooth an your done.

I have used the metal from a clothes hanger, you can easily hammer it into a good tension wrench after you bend an "L" shape
I like to finish it with a file or grinding wheel.

The guide looks good. Can anyone tell me where to obtain some street sweeper bristles?
