Weird looking lock

Postby Bitter Man » 9 Nov 2003 13:35

Hey, im looking for info on this lock. Its the kind seen on old desks and some cheap jewelry boxes. Its shaped like an upside down lightbulb with a little bolt in the more boulbous end of the keyhole. Any idea how to open these?

Sounds like a warded lock. Very simple to pick with a simple hook pick. The proper key will look like a skeleton key with a hole in the end or "post". Hope that helps.

Oh yea hehe. I managed to pick it before i checked back on my question. Finally found a use for the stupid L-shaped warded key that i never use. Funny how that worked out...
