Are the picks in Sparrows Sentry the same than in Tuxedo?

Postby pillar » 23 May 2016 12:33

Hi.

I got myself a Sparrows Tuxedo set and a Sparrows Sentry case (no picks)
I wanted to place the picks of the tuxedo into the sentry case but the do not fit well. (already wrapped with shrink tubes and polished)
What kind of picks are in the sentry normally?
Are they smaller sized than the tuxedo picks?

I wanted to assemble a pickset with a few more picks than the Tuxedo, kinda like an everyday pickset (EU locks).
The Sentry has some more pockets.

I believe all Sparrows picks are the same length (there are a couple exceptions, but not many). The Tuxedo case fits the bare picks well, but I don't think they would fit if they had a handle.

The Sentry case appears to be the same size as the Tuxedo case, but I'm only basing that on the website pictures...

They both come (loaded) with the same picks, with the exception of the tuxedo having a euro hook and three more tension wrenches. From the pictures, the coyote case is slightly shorter.

The cases come pretty tight but will loosen up some with use. I used to carry the tuxedo + 5 Peterson picks with handles. I just put the ones with handles in tip first.

Thanks for the answers :)

I tried to send an email to sparrows, but I only get "no valid MX hosts found" and a failed delivery message.

The Sentry (SF case?) isn't meant to take dipped picks. With the military kits, they are trying to pack as much as possible into the smallest kit. As such, comfort (dipped handles) is not a factor. The picks are identical except for the dipped handles, but the MOLLE case is meant for undipped picks

The Tuxedo is a good EDC kit on it's own. You might need to add picks down the road, but my experience is that- I used the hook, triple or offset 95% of the time.

I like Sparrows. But their cases are really tight if you try to throw extra picks, Peterson's or custom handles into the kit. I looked into going MOLLE (I strap as much as I can to the outside of my bag), but my small EDC kit needs a Comp Case. I'm probably going to place an order for a Sherman because of the picks I've accumulated.

We all want to have more tools, until we hit the point where we wish we had the will power to omit some.

For these types of mail delivery mishaps, I would try sending the message from a different email or even a different computer/IP.

Sometimes it can be an issue between the two email addresses.

If you have an email address from a different URL, that could also help troubleshoot the issue. (Break out that Hotmail account again.) :D

Once, out of nowhere, I was getting "permanent failure" notices every time I tried to send a friend an email. Trying this type of thing worked for me.

Best of luck!

Either there was a temporary problem with their DNS or your mail provider is misconfigured in some manner.
Looks good from here and my cell data network.

Hmmm
Your checking sparrowslockpicking.com not sparrowslockpicks.com . Unfortunately you need to run the command from your mail server(if that is not where you are running it). This may be somethig you have to contact your mail provider about.

Side note: the RFC for SMTP dictates a server will first check for an MX record, but if non is present it shoyld check for an A record. If an A record is found where no MX record is, then it should try to send mail to the server listed in the A record.
