I have over a dozen of the American H10 locks. 3 are unlocked, 10 are still locked. I want to disassemble them so the cylinder can be changed out. There is no screw in the lock and the local locksmith wont help me. There are what looks to be 2 oilier holes on the back as well a pin that looks like it holds the shackle in place.

So whats your exact question? How to remove the cylinders on the padlocks that are unlocked or help picking the 10 that are locked?

Southord makes a nice set of picks just for those mechanisms, willing to spend about $40 bucks?

Where will you get new cylinders that are very specific to those lock bodies?

Post pics of the unlocked padlock looking down the shackle hole, if you read this thread you probably saw the parts diagram I posted with insructions for removing the core.

American locks are fun to pick until you learn their sequence.... then you will need to repin them with much harder combinations. The Master locks I have found are so easy to pick I gave up on them with the exception of the 2 #19's I found. I impressioned 1 and sold it, I have the other that I have picked a few times (they are not easy!!!!) I need to impression it to make a key and have to repair the shackle because someone had cut it to get it off of something and then welded it. I just need to grind it and maybe do a little welding and grinding to finish it up. Would make a great security lock for my reloading room...
